Saint Anne Chapel, located within Székesfehérvár Castle, holds significant historical importance. Originally constructed in the Gothic style during the 14th century under King Louis I of Hungary, it served as the royal chapel and mausoleum for several Hungarian queens including Isabella of Naples. Over centuries, it underwent Baroque alterations following Ottoman occupation in the 17th century. Extensive archaeological excavations and restorations took place throughout the 20th and 21st centuries to reveal and preserve its layered history. Today it functions as a cultural venue and monument showcasing medieval architecture and Hungarian royal heritage.
