Five Spot Jazz holds a significant place in the history of jazz music. Originally operating as the Five Spot Cafe from 1953 to 1971 at 1 St. Mark's Place in the East Village, it became renowned as a crucial venue for the burgeoning bebop and avant-garde jazz scenes.
