Originally built as a housing project in the late 1970s designed by architect Karl Schwanzer – known for his work on the Austrian Pavilion at the 1967 World Expo in Montreal – it faced potential demolition in the 1990s. A community initiative successfully prevented this, transforming the building into a self-managed cultural center.
