Itai Kriss is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and performer specializing in Balkan brass band music, often incorporating elements of jazz, funk, and traditional Jewish melodies. He is known for his virtuosic clarinet playing and energetic stage presence, leading the Itai Kriss Ensemble which frequently features a diverse instrumentation including trumpets, trombones, tuba, drums and percussion. Kriss’s work draws heavily from the traditions of klezmer and Romani music found throughout Eastern Europe.
