IAN SWEET, the musical project of Jillian Medford, will perform at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on July 12, 2026. IAN SWEET’s music is generally categorized as indie rock, often incorporating elements of shoegaze, dream pop, and lo-fi aesthetics. Medford’s songwriting frequently explores themes of vulnerability, anxiety, and personal experience, delivered through layered instrumentation and distinctive vocal melodies. The project gained prominence with the release of albums like *Shallow Grave* (2018) and *Moonstone* (2021), establishing a dedicated following within the independent music scene.

The 9:30 Club holds a significant place in the history of American live music. Originally opening in 1990, it quickly became renowned for its intimate setting and commitment to showcasing diverse musical acts – from established artists to emerging talent. The venue has hosted numerous iconic performers across genres including rock, punk, hip-hop, and electronic music. In 2013, the original 9:30 Club relocated to a larger space on V Street NW in Washington D.C.
