Hyelim Kim, a South Korean pianist recognized for her interpretations of Romantic and contemporary classical repertoire, will perform at the Concertgebouw in Bruges, Belgium on September 26, 2026. Kim’s playing is often described as possessing both technical brilliance and a deeply expressive quality, frequently featuring works by composers such as Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and contemporary Korean composers. She has gained international recognition through awards from major competitions and performances with leading orchestras.

The Concertgebouw Bruges, opened in 2022, is a new concert hall designed by Robbrecht en Daem architecten in collaboration with Taylor MacMillan Limited. It’s built on the site of a former Salvatorian monastery and aims to be a significant cultural hub for West Flanders. The hall's primary space boasts a shoebox design – a traditional shape favored for its acoustic qualities – capable of accommodating approximately 1,288 audience members. Unlike many European concert halls with long histories, the Concertgebouw Bruges represents a modern approach to concert hall architecture prioritizing both sound quality and integration with its surrounding urban landscape. The building incorporates elements of the original monastery structure while providing state-of-the-art facilities for musical performance.
