hr-Bigband, a prominent German big band orchestra affiliated with the Hessischer Rundfunk (Hessian Broadcasting Corporation), will perform at the Großer Sendesaal Des Hessischen Rundfunks in Frankfurt on February 11, 2027. The orchestra’s repertoire spans a broad range of jazz and popular music, encompassing both classic big band arrangements and contemporary compositions, often featuring collaborations with renowned international artists. The Großer Sendesaal (Large Broadcasting Hall) is a significant concert venue located within the Hessischen Rundfunk’s broadcasting center. Opened in 1959, it was specifically designed for radio and television recordings but quickly became established as a respected concert hall due to its exceptional acoustics. The hall has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed musicians and orchestras throughout its history and is known for its modernist architectural style. It underwent extensive renovation and modernization in 2018-2020 to further enhance its acoustic properties and technical capabilities while preserving its original character. The venue remains central to the broadcasting activities of HR as well as being available for public events.
