Horse Lords is a Washington D.C.-based band known for their instrumental post-punk sound, characterized by complex polyrhythms, angular guitar work, and influences from krautrock and free jazz. Formed in 2010, the group—comprising Andrew Means, Max Eilbacher, Sam Habegger, and Ethan Primason—has released several albums on Northern Spy Records and consistently tours nationally and internationally. Their performances are often described as energetic and intellectually stimulating, focusing on tightly-composed structures that allow for improvisation.
