Horse Lords is scheduled to perform at Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland on October 10, 2026. The band, formed in Washington D.C. in 2009, creates music often described as post-punk and experimental rock, characterized by complex polyrhythms, angular guitar work, and spoken-word elements. Their compositions frequently eschew traditional verse-chorus structures, favoring instead a dynamic interplay between improvisation and tightly arranged sections. They have released albums on labels including Northern Spy Records and Saddle Creek.

Ottobar, located in the Charles Village neighborhood of Baltimore, has been a prominent venue for independent music since its opening in 1998. Originally established as a bar with live music as a secondary feature, it quickly gained recognition for showcasing emerging and established indie rock, punk, and alternative artists. The venue is known for its intimate setting – a relatively small capacity space – and its distinctive aesthetic incorporating vintage furniture and a generally relaxed atmosphere. Over the years it has hosted numerous nationally touring acts alongside local Baltimore bands and remains an important component of the city’s music scene. It underwent significant renovations following a fire in 2023 but has since reopened.
