Hiroshima is scheduled to perform at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit, Michigan on August 26, 2026. The group, formed in Los Angeles in 1979, performs a distinctive blend of jazz fusion with elements of rock, funk, and traditional Japanese musical influences. Their instrumentation often features koto, shakuhachi, and other Japanese instruments integrated with conventional Western instruments like electric guitar and drums. Throughout their career, Hiroshima has released numerous albums and contributed music to film soundtracks, becoming known for their instrumental prowess and atmospheric compositions.

The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue located on the Detroit Riverfront, specifically at Chene Park. Originally constructed in 1957 as the Chene Park Bandshell, it underwent significant renovations and was officially renamed in June 2021 to honor the late “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin, a Detroit native. The amphitheater has a seating capacity of approximately 5,000 and has hosted a diverse range of performers across genres including R&B, jazz, soul, and gospel. Its location provides views of the Detroit skyline and Belle Isle Island.
