Hiromi, a Japanese pianist and composer, will perform at Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, California on October 5, 2026. Her musical style is characterized by a vibrant fusion of jazz improvisation with elements of classical, pop, and world music influences. Often described as intensely energetic and technically virtuosic, Hiromi’s compositions frequently feature complex harmonies, driving rhythms, and dynamic shifts in mood. She began her professional career after graduating from the Berklee College of Music and has since released numerous critically acclaimed albums and toured internationally.

Kuumbwa Jazz Center has been a significant venue for live music, particularly jazz, since its founding in 1976. Originally established as a collective by musicians seeking a dedicated performance space, Kuumbwa (“joy” in Swahili) operates as a non-profit organization committed to presenting diverse and high-quality artistic programming.
