Experience Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester live on June 22nd
Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, founded in 1992 by Claudio Abbado, is a world-renowned youth orchestra celebrated for its interpretations of late-Romantic and early 20th-century orchestral repertoire, particularly the works of Gustav Mahler himself. The orchestra brings together highly talented young musicians aged 16-26 from across Europe, offering them a unique platform for artistic development and performance experience under leading conductors. Their performances are noted for their passionate intensity and technical brilliance despite the musicians’ young ages.
The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert hall complex inaugurated in January 2015. Located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, it is designed by Jean Nouvel and comprises a Grande Salle with a vineyard-style seating arrangement allowing closer proximity to the performers, as well as smaller spaces dedicated to chamber music and educational activities. The Philharmonie de Paris serves as a national institution dedicated to the promotion of musical creation and education, hosting a diverse range of classical music performances and events. It replaced earlier Parisian concert halls like the Salle Pleyel as a primary venue for orchestral performances.
