Experience Gregoire Maret live on June 24th
Gregoire Maret is a Swiss-born, New York-based harmonica player and composer known for his distinctive blend of jazz, blues, and world music influences. His musical style frequently incorporates elements of improvisation and showcases a virtuosic command of the harmonica, often compared to instrumental vocalists. He has collaborated with numerous prominent artists across genres, including Toots Thielemans, Dr. John, and Norah Jones. Maret’s compositions often explore themes of personal experience and cultural exchange.
The concert is scheduled to take place at Koerner Hall in Toronto. Koerner Hall, located within the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), is renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Opened in 2009, it was designed by Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects specifically to optimize sound quality for both performers and audiences. The hall’s design incorporates a shoebox shape – traditionally favoured for concert halls – and features maple flooring and adjustable acoustic banners to fine-tune the sonic environment.
Koerner Hall regularly hosts a diverse range of performances encompassing classical music, jazz, world music, and other genres.
