The Bentway is a public space located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, situated directly under the Gardiner Expressway. Created through a partnership with the City of Toronto, Waterfront Toronto, and local arts organizations, it transformed previously underutilized space into a vibrant cultural hub. Officially opening in 2018, The Bentway hosts a variety of events including performances, art installations, markets and community programs. Its unique architectural setting—a concrete corridor beneath an elevated highway—provides an unconventional venue for artistic expression. The space aims to connect different parts of the city and provide accessible cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike.
