The space deliberately eschews a traditional bar setup, prioritizing acoustics and attentive listening. It’s named after Milton “Mezz” Mezzrow, a white clarinetist and jazz enthusiast who actively championed Black musicians during the segregation era and was deeply involved in the early development of jazz culture in New York City.
