GoGo Penguin is a British instrumental trio known for their distinctive acoustic-electronic sound. Their music blends elements of jazz, classical minimalism, and electronic dance music, often characterized by intricate compositions featuring layered piano melodies, driving bass lines, and dynamic drumming. The band initially formed in Manchester in 2008 and gained recognition for their innovative approach to instrumental music, moving away from traditional jazz improvisation towards meticulously crafted arrangements.

Koko, located in Camden Town, London, has a rich history as a live music venue. Originally built as a theatre in 1900, it was known as the Camden Theatre before being renamed the Music Machine in the 1970s and finally Koko in 1994. The building’s interior features a notable Victorian theatre design with a dome ceiling and ornate detailing. Throughout its existence, Koko has hosted performances by numerous internationally renowned artists across various genres including Prince, The Rolling Stones (early performances), David Bowie and more recently, Stormzy. It underwent significant restoration following a fire in 2020 and continues to operate as a prominent cultural landmark and performance space within London's music scene.
