Georgie Hume & The Pity Party will be performing at Regent Sounds Studio in London on July 23, 2026. The band’s music is generally described as indie rock with elements of power pop and a lyrical focus often revolving around themes of self-deprecation and observational humour. Their sound incorporates driving guitar riffs alongside melodic vocals, drawing comparisons to artists like Courtney Barnett and Sleater-Kinney. They have released several EPs and singles gaining attention within the UK independent music scene.
Regent Sounds Studio, located in Stoke Newington, has a history rooted in the vibrant East London music community. Originally established in 1978 by Geoff Emerick – a renowned engineer known for his work with The Beatles – the studio quickly became a favoured recording space for post-punk and new wave artists. Throughout the 1980s and 90s, it hosted sessions with bands such as The Smiths, Aztec Camera, and Elvis Costello.
Following a period of closure, Regent Sounds was meticulously restored and reopened in 2016, maintaining its original console and much of its vintage equipment.
