Auckland Town Hall, completed in 1911, is a significant landmark and primary performance venue in Auckland City. Designed by architects Parr, Finch & Lamb, it’s notable for its Classical Renaissance style and prominent clock tower. The Concert Chamber, where Gemma New will conduct, boasts exceptional acoustics and has hosted performances by numerous internationally renowned artists across various genres since its opening. Originally conceived as a municipal building including council chambers, the Town Hall has evolved primarily into a cultural hub. Significant renovations have occurred over the years to modernize facilities while preserving its historic character; most recently undergoing extensive strengthening and refurbishment completed in 2023. The hall is registered by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga as a Category 1 Historic Place.
