GBSR Duo presents a program of contemporary classical music, frequently incorporating extended techniques and exploring the timbral possibilities of their instruments – guitar and saxophone. Their compositions often blend elements of improvisation with meticulously notated scores, resulting in a dynamic and textural sound world. The duo has gained recognition for commissioning new works and championing lesser-known composers alongside established figures.

Kings Place, located in the Regent’s Canal area of London, is a concert hall and art space opened in 2006. Housed within a former biscuit factory, the building underwent significant architectural renovation to create its current form. It’s known for its excellent acoustics, particularly within Hall One – the primary performance space – and its commitment to showcasing a diverse range of musical genres including classical, jazz, world music, and contemporary composition.

The venue also functions as a hub for artistic collaboration and hosts exhibitions, talks, and workshops. Kings Place was designed with a focus on natural light and public accessibility, aiming to be a welcoming cultural destination for the local community and wider audiences. It regularly broadcasts performances on BBC Radio 3, further extending its reach.
