The Alte Oper Frankfurt (Old Opera) holds a significant place in German cultural history. Following extensive reconstruction and modernization completed in 1981, it reopened not as an opera house presenting full staged productions – that function moved to the newer Oper Frankfurt – but as a prestigious concert hall and event venue.
