Fruit Bats will be performing at Higher Ground Ballroom in South Burlington, Vermont on November 6, 2026. Fruit Bats, the musical project of Eric Johnson, is generally categorized as indie rock, often incorporating elements of folk, country, and power pop. Their sound is characterized by layered instrumentation, melodic songwriting, and Johnson’s distinctive vocals. The band has released several albums to critical acclaim, including *Mouthfuls* (2001) and *Gold Past Life* (2023), evolving over time from a primarily solo endeavor to a fully-fledged band.

Higher Ground Ballroom is a prominent music venue in northern Vermont. Originally established in 1998 as a smaller club in Winooski, it relocated to its current South Burlington location in 2014. The venue is known for hosting a diverse range of nationally touring and regional acts across various genres including rock, jam bands, electronic music and hip-hop. It features a dedicated ballroom space with a capacity of approximately 850 attendees and an outdoor “Shelter” stage utilized during warmer months.
