Frank Vignola will perform at Birdland Theater in New York City on November 18, 2026. Vignola is a highly regarded jazz guitarist known for his virtuosity in the style of Django Reinhardt, pioneering a revival of the “gypsy jazz” sound. His playing incorporates rapid-fire picking, sophisticated harmonic substitutions, and a strong emphasis on improvisation within a swing aesthetic. He frequently performs solo and with ensembles, often featuring violin and upright bass, recreating the hot jazz tradition of the 1930s while also incorporating modern influences.

Birdland Theater is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Theater District and carries significant history within the jazz world. The original Birdland club, founded in 1949, was a legendary venue that hosted nearly every major jazz artist of its time – Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Ella Fitzgerald all graced its stage. While the original location closed in 1965, the name was revived in 1986 with the opening of Birdland Michael’s, and subsequently moved to its current location as Birdland Theater.
