Mississippi Studios is a well-known independent music venue located in the Mississippi Avenue district of North Portland. Originally established in 2003 by Jimmy Thompson, the venue began as a converted auto-repair shop with a focus on showcasing local and touring indie rock and folk artists. It’s known for its intimate setting and high-quality sound system. In 2018, the venue underwent significant expansion adding a larger stage space alongside its original smaller room while maintaining its commitment to diverse musical programming including genres like Americana, experimental electronic music, and hip-hop alongside its roots in indie rock. The venue also operates as a bar and restaurant.
