Angélique Kidjo will perform at The Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver, Washington on May 2nd, 2027. Kidjo is a Beninese singer-songwriter known for her diverse musical style which blends West African traditions – particularly Yoruba, Fon, and Vodun influences – with elements of American R&B, funk, jazz, soul, Latin and pop. Her work often incorporates multiple languages including French, English, Yoruba and Fon, and frequently addresses themes of social justice and Pan-Africanism. Throughout her career she has received numerous accolades including five Grammy Awards.

The Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver is a multi-purpose venue located within the city’s downtown arts district. Originally opened in 2011 as part of a larger urban renewal project, it replaced the historic Vancouver Armory building while incorporating elements of its facade into the new design. The venue features a 1,433-seat main theatre designed to accommodate Broadway-scale productions, concerts and other large performances. It also includes a smaller studio theater used for more intimate events and community programming. The Centre serves as a regional hub for performing arts presentations and educational outreach programs.
