Ensemble Modern, a pioneering contemporary music group founded in 1995 in Frankfurt, Germany, will perform at De Sopena S/N, Guanajuato, Mexico on October 3, 2026. De Sopena S/N refers to a historic building located within the city of Guanajuato. It’s formally known as the former Convent of Santa Teresa de Jesús, later repurposed as a cultural center. Originally constructed in the 18th century during the Baroque period, the building exhibits significant architectural features representative of colonial Mexican design. Following periods serving various functions including educational use, it underwent restoration efforts in the early 2000s transforming it into a venue dedicated to artistic and cultural events. Its courtyard and internal spaces regularly host performances spanning music, theatre and visual arts.
