Earth will be performing at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on September 30, 2026. The band is recognized as pioneers of drone metal, a subgenre characterized by slow tempos, heavily distorted guitars, and minimalist compositions often incorporating elements of ambient music and psychedelic rock. Originating in Seattle, Washington in 1989, Earth initially emerged from the grunge scene but quickly diverged to develop their unique sound, heavily influenced by minimalist composers like Tony Conrad and the aesthetics of Japanese film director Yasujiro Ozu. Their music frequently evokes vast landscapes and a sense of meditative spaciousness.

The United Center is a multi-purpose arena located on the Near West Side of Chicago. Completed in 1994, it serves as the home arena for both the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League. With a seating capacity of approximately 19,763 for basketball and 17,500 for hockey, it’s one of the largest arenas in the United States. The venue has hosted numerous high-profile events beyond sporting competitions including concerts by prominent musical artists, political conventions and various other large-scale performances.
