Dukes of Dixieland will perform aboard the Steamboat Natchez on June 25, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Dukes of Dixieland are a New Orleans-based traditional jazz band known for their energetic performances and adherence to the early New Orleans “Dixieland” style. This typically features collective improvisation, lively tempos, and instrumentation including trumpet, trombone, clarinet, banjo, tuba or string bass, and drums. The band has a history stretching back to 1973, evolving from earlier iterations of traditional jazz groups in the city.

The Steamboat Natchez is a sternwheel-powered steamboat operating on the Mississippi River. Built in 1975, it is one of the last authentic steamboats still in operation. While not a true historic vessel – it was built as a modern replica – it’s designed to resemble those that plied the river in the 19th century. The boat offers daytime and evening cruises departing from New Orleans, often accompanied by live jazz music. It is owned and operated by New Orleans Steamboat Company and measures 265 feet in length.
