Dukes of Dixieland will perform aboard the Steamboat Natchez on June 24, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Dukes of Dixieland are a traditional New Orleans jazz ensemble, known for their energetic performances rooted in the early sounds of Dixieland jazz – a style characterized by collective improvisation, polyphony, and a front line typically featuring trumpet, clarinet, and trombone. The band has a long history in New Orleans, tracing its origins back to the late 1940s and becoming prominent figures in preserving and performing this uniquely American musical genre.

The Steamboat Natchez is a sternwheel-driven steamboat operating on the Mississippi River. Constructed in 1975, it is one of the last authentic steamboats still in operation. Unlike many earlier vessels, the Natchez was specifically built for tourism rather than cargo transport. It’s designed to resemble the steamboats of the 1870s and offers cruises that highlight the history and culture of the river and New Orleans. The vessel features multiple decks for passenger enjoyment and often hosts live music performances as part of its cruises. The Natchez is owned by New Orleans Steamboat Company.
