The band is a contemporary American hardcore punk group, heavily influenced by 90s emo and melodic hardcore sounds. Their music incorporates elements of post-hardcore and often features dynamic shifts between aggressive instrumentation and emotionally driven vocal delivery. DRAIN gained prominence through independent releases and extensive touring within the underground music scene before signing with a major label.

Smoothie King Center opened in 1999 and serves as the home arena for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association and previously for the New Orleans Hornets. The venue has a seating capacity of approximately 14,000 for basketball games and up to 16,500 for concerts, depending on stage configuration. Beyond sporting events, Smoothie King Center regularly hosts large-scale concerts featuring prominent artists across various genres, as well as other entertainment events like circuses and family shows. It's located in the Central Business District of New Orleans and is a significant component of the city’s event infrastructure.
