Donny McCaslin is a highly regarded American jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. His musical style is rooted in post-bop and contemporary jazz, often incorporating elements of rock, electronic music, and improvisation. McCaslin gained wider recognition for his work on David Bowie’s final album, *Blackstar* (2016), where he was a prominent instrumentalist and contributed significantly to its sonic landscape. Blue Note Tokyo, located in Minato, Japan, is a celebrated jazz club with a significant history. Originally established in 1964 as an offshoot of the legendary Blue Note nightclub in New York City, it quickly became a cornerstone of the Japanese jazz scene. The club underwent relocation and reconstruction following damage from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, reopening in 2018 at its current location within the Aoyama district.
