Death and Taxes Swing Band will perform a concert on August 15, 2026, aboard the USS Hornet - Sea, located in Alameda County, California. The band is known for its energetic performances of contemporary swing music, blending traditional big band arrangements with modern influences and original compositions. Their style incorporates elements of jazz, blues, and funk alongside the classic swing sound.

The USS Hornet (CV-12) is an Essex-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1943 during World War II. It participated in numerous significant naval operations throughout the Pacific Theater, earning nine battle stars for her service. Following WWII, the Hornet was reactivated for the Korean War and later served as a recovery vessel for the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 missions, retrieving the spacecraft and astronauts upon their return to Earth.

Decommissioned in 1970, the ship was opened as a museum in 1986 and is now a National Historic Landmark. The USS Hornet - Sea functions as both a museum showcasing naval aviation history and an event venue. Its flight deck and hangar bays provide unique spaces for public events while preserving its historical significance.
