Experience Deafheaven live on September 22nd
Deafheaven will perform at the Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 22, 2026. The band is recognized for their distinctive blend of black metal and shoegaze, often categorized as “blackgaze.” Their music incorporates elements of post-rock, incorporating atmospheric textures, melodic passages, and emotionally resonant vocals alongside harsher black metal conventions like tremolo picking and blast beats. Formed in San Francisco, California in 2010, Deafheaven gained prominence with albums like *Sunbather* (2013) which significantly contributed to the development and popularization of the blackgaze subgenre.
Franklin Music Hall, originally built in 1928 as a movie palace named the Metropolitan Theatre, has a long history as a performance venue. It underwent several name changes – including the Palladium – before becoming the Electric Factory from 1995 to 2024. In 2024 it was rebranded as Franklin Music Hall following a significant renovation overseen by Live Nation Philadelphia.
