The Bend Theater originally opened in 1928 as a single-screen movie house named the Silver Maple Theatre. It operated continuously as a cinema until its closure in 1986. Following a period of disuse, the building underwent significant renovations starting in 2018 led by the West Bend Community Theater group. Re-opening as The Bend Theater in 2021, it now functions as a multi-purpose venue hosting live music performances, theatrical productions, film screenings and community events.
