Experience Curtis Stigers live on August 1st
Curtis Stigers will perform at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, on August 1st, 2026. Stigers is an American jazz, pop, and blues vocalist and saxophonist. He initially gained prominence in the early 1990s with his hit single “I Wonder Why,” and is known for a smooth vocal style blending jazz improvisation with contemporary pop sensibilities. His repertoire encompasses both original compositions and interpretations of classic songs, often incorporating elements of soul and R&B. He frequently performs with both a full band and in more intimate, stripped-down settings.
The De La Warr Pavilion, opened in 1935, is a Grade I listed modernist building designed by Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff. It was originally conceived as a multipurpose entertainment venue for the town of Bexhill, featuring a theatre, ballroom, and café. Over the decades, it served various roles, including as a military barracks during World War II.
Following a significant restoration project completed in 2005, the Pavilion now operates as a contemporary arts centre presenting a diverse programme of exhibitions, performances, film screenings and creative learning activities.
