Cuarteto Casals will perform at the Opernhaus Dortmund on February 3, 2027. The ensemble is renowned for its interpretations of the classical and contemporary string quartet repertoire, characterized by a rich, warm sound and a deeply intellectual approach to performance. Formed in 1997, the quartet—comprising Aran Barens, Abel Tomás, Geoffroy Grosjean and Ivan Torres—is noted for its commitment to exploring both established masterpieces and works by lesser-known composers. They frequently commission new pieces and are recognized for their insightful programming.

The Opernhaus Dortmund, inaugurated in 1966, is a significant cultural venue in North Rhine-Westphalia. Designed by architect Paul Rittinghaus, it’s notable for its modernist architectural style and prominent position within the city's cultural landscape. The building underwent extensive renovations between 2008 and 2010, modernizing its technical capabilities while preserving its original aesthetic. It functions as a multi-purpose performance space hosting opera, ballet, concerts (including orchestral performances), and other theatrical events.
