Cristian Măcelaru is a Romanian-Swedish conductor known for his dynamic interpretations and a repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works. His conducting style is often described as energetic and insightful, with a particular affinity for composers like Bartók, Stravinsky, and Ligeti, alongside a commitment to showcasing new music. He currently serves as Chief Conductor of the WDR Sinfonieorchester in Cologne, Germany, and previously held positions with the Philadelphia Orchestra as its Music Director.

The Oslo Concert Hall (Konserthus) is Norway’s premier concert venue, opened in 1977. Designed by architect Arne Henriksen, it is renowned for its acoustics which were significantly influenced by the work of Norwegian acoustician Sverre Holm. The building itself is part of a larger cultural complex that includes the National Theatre and the National Gallery. The Konserthus is home to the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts a wide range of musical performances including orchestral concerts, chamber music recitals, and contemporary music events.
