Counterparts, a Canadian metalcore band formed in 2007, will be performing at Manchester Academy 2 on December 11th, 2026. Their music is generally characterized by its blend of aggressive breakdowns, melodic guitar work, and emotionally charged vocals, often exploring themes of loss, frustration, and personal struggle. Over their career, the band has released several studio albums including *Duality*, *The Difference Between Hell and You*, and *A Promise to Believe*. They are currently signed to Nuclear Blast Records.

Manchester Academy 2 is a mid-sized venue located within the University of Manchester Students' Union. Originally opening in 1991 as a student union space, it quickly became a popular live music venue hosting both emerging artists and established acts across various genres including rock, indie, metal and alternative. The room holds approximately 500 people standing and is known for its intimate atmosphere and relatively flat floor plan offering good sightlines. It’s part of a larger complex encompassing Manchester Academy (the main hall) and Club Academy. The venue has hosted numerous internationally touring bands throughout its history contributing significantly to Manchester’s live music scene.
