corto.alto will be performing at Cambridge Junction on November 25, 2026. The duo, comprised of Anaïs Méndez and Mauricio Velasierra, create a distinctive musical landscape blending live looping, vocal harmonies, and extended techniques on acoustic instruments – primarily cello and guitar. Their compositions often incorporate elements of contemporary classical, jazz improvisation, and folk traditions, resulting in a sound that is both intricate and emotionally resonant. They are known for their dynamic stage presence and innovative use of technology to build layered soundscapes in real-time.

Cambridge Junction is a multi-disciplinary arts venue located in the heart of Cambridge, UK. Opened in 2005, it was conceived as a space dedicated to supporting and showcasing emerging and experimental artists across a range of disciplines including music, theatre, dance, and digital media. The venue features two primary performance spaces: J1, a larger adaptable hall; and J2, a more intimate studio theatre. It operates as an independent charitable organisation with a focus on accessibility and community engagement alongside its programme of national and international performances.
