corto.alto, a German post-punk and indie rock duo comprised of members Julia Fischer and Eva Governo, will be performing at Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow, United Kingdom on January 29, 2027. Their music is characterized by driving basslines, minimalist arrangements, and Fischer’s distinctive spoken-word vocals, often exploring themes of alienation and modern life. They gained prominence with their 2021 debut album *Future Past Present*, followed by *Western by Law* in 2023, both receiving critical acclaim for their unique sonic aesthetic.

Barrowland Ballroom holds a significant place in Glasgow's cultural history. Opened in 1934 as a dance hall, it quickly became a popular venue for music performances. The building was originally constructed as a traditional ballroom with a sprung dance floor – still present today – and retains much of its original Art Deco interior. Throughout the decades it has hosted a diverse range of internationally renowned artists across multiple genres, becoming particularly associated with rock and indie music.
