King is a contemporary American blues musician, singer, and actor known for his energetic performances and distinctive style blending traditional blues with elements of funk, rock, and hip-hop. He is a direct descendant of Mississippi Delta bluesman Charley Patton and often incorporates Patton’s repertoire into his sets alongside original compositions. King gained wider recognition for his role as the fictional blues musician Ludlow Gates in the Coen Brothers’ film *O Brother, Where Art Thou?* and its associated soundtrack.
Snug Harbor, located in the French Quarter, has been a prominent New Orleans jazz venue since its founding in 1983 by Iris Krasnow and Ron Cuccia. Originally conceived as a small art gallery showcasing local artists, it quickly evolved into a dedicated jazz club due to popular demand.
