The Taste of the Danforth is an annual Greek festival held along Danforth Avenue in Toronto’s Greektown neighbourhood. Established in 1993, it originally began as a smaller street fair showcasing local Greek restaurants and businesses. Over time, it has grown into one of Canada’s largest cultural festivals, attracting over a million visitors annually. The event celebrates Greek heritage through food, music, dance, and cultural demonstrations.

Danforth Avenue itself has been a central hub for the Greek-Canadian community since the mid-20th century, becoming known for its concentration of Greek restaurants, bakeries, and shops.
