Experience Chineke! Orchestra live on November 27th

Chineke! Orchestra will perform at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on November 27, 2026. Chineke! is a pioneering British orchestra comprised primarily of musicians of Black and Asian descent. Their repertoire is broadly classical, encompassing works from the standard orchestral canon alongside pieces by composers of colour who have historically been underrepresented. The orchestra actively commissions new works and seeks to broaden perspectives within classical music.

The Queen Elizabeth Hall forms part of the Southbank Centre, a significant arts complex on the South Bank of the River Thames. Opened in 1967, it was designed by Hubert Bennett and is recognised for its Brutalist architecture and excellent acoustics. Originally conceived as a venue for a diverse range of performances including orchestral concerts, opera, ballet, and contemporary dance, it underwent a substantial refurbishment completed in 2018. This renovation focused on improving accessibility and enhancing the audience experience while retaining the hall’s original character. The hall's seating configuration allows for intimate chamber performances as well as large-scale orchestral presentations. It remains a central hub for classical music performance in London.
