Chineke! Orchestra will perform at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on October 11, 2026. Chineke! is a pioneering European ensemble comprised of culturally diverse musicians, primarily of Black and ethnically diverse backgrounds. The orchestra’s repertoire spans a broad range, encompassing standard orchestral works alongside compositions by composers of colour who have historically been underrepresented in classical music. They frequently commission new works and champion contemporary voices, aiming to create a more inclusive and equitable space within the classical music world.

The Queen Elizabeth Hall is a prominent concert venue located on the South Bank in London, forming part of the Southbank Centre. Opened in 1967, it is recognised for its modernist architectural style and excellent acoustics. Designed by Hubert Bennett, the hall has hosted performances by internationally renowned orchestras, soloists, and ensembles across various genres including classical music, jazz, contemporary dance and spoken word. It underwent a significant refurbishment completed in 2018 which enhanced its facilities while maintaining its core acoustic properties and character. The hall’s flexible space allows for varied staging configurations catering to different performance needs.
