Cherry Blossom is a Japanese instrumental rock band, primarily categorized within the post-rock genre. Established in 1981, it’s known for its intimate setting and long history of supporting experimental and underground music scenes – particularly noise music, free improvisation, and independent rock. The venue has a capacity of approximately 80-100 people and maintains a deliberately raw aesthetic. Rathole’s founder, Yasushi Ueno, is a prominent figure in the Japanese noise music community and continues to curate performances there. It's considered an important space for artists pushing boundaries outside mainstream musical conventions.
