Rock Concerts in Lyon
Experience Chassol live on July 3rd
Chassol, the stage name of Nicolas Chapuis, is a French composer, pianist, vocalist and filmmaker known for his unique “recording-live” technique. He constructs compositions by meticulously sampling and re-assembling sounds captured during the performance itself, often incorporating vocalizations and instrumental loops to create layered, textural soundscapes. His music blends elements of jazz, classical, electronic and world music, resulting in a distinctive improvisational yet structured aesthetic.
The concert is scheduled to take place at Trinity Chapel (Chapelle de la Trinité) in Lyon, France on July 3rd, 2026. This chapel holds historical significance as part of the former Convent of the Visitation, founded in 1605. The chapel’s architecture reflects Baroque influences with notable features including ornate stucco work and painted ceilings completed in the 17th century. Following the French Revolution, the convent was repurposed and underwent several changes before being integrated into the Lyon National School of Fine Arts (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon) in 1906. Today it functions as a space for exhibitions and occasional concerts, preserving its architectural heritage while serving an artistic function.
