Chan Hall will perform at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) in Richmond, Virginia on July 8, 2026. Hall is a South Korean guitarist known for his innovative blend of classical guitar technique with influences from jazz, contemporary classical music, and traditional Korean musical elements. His compositions frequently feature extended techniques and explore complex harmonic structures, resulting in a sound that is both technically impressive and emotionally resonant. He often incorporates percussive elements on the guitar body itself, expanding its sonic palette.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, established in 1936, is one of the largest comprehensive art museums in the United States. Notably, VMFA offers general admission free of charge – a policy established in 2019 – supported by philanthropic contributions and state funding.
