Cappella Istropolitana is a Slovakian chamber orchestra renowned for its historically informed performances of classical and early romantic repertoire. Established in 1981, the ensemble focuses on stylistic authenticity, often employing period instruments and performance practices to recreate the sound world of composers like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. While versatile, they are particularly noted for their interpretations of Viennese Classical music.

The concert will take place at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria on December 15th, 2026. The Musikverein is internationally celebrated as one of the world’s premier concert halls. Completed in 1870, it is the home of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra and hosts over 400 events annually. Its exceptional acoustics are largely attributed to its vineyard terrace construction and the use of specific wood types in its design.

The Golden Hall (Goldener Saal), where Cappella Istropolitana will perform, is particularly famous; consistently ranked among the greatest concert halls globally due to its warm sound and elegant architecture. The hall’s design was overseen by Johann Garben, with artistic input from Isidor Deutsch who created the hall's elaborate ornamentation including gilded elements which give it its name.
