Classical Concerts in Bruges

Experience Brodsky Quartet live on February 5th

The Brodsky Quartet will perform at the Concertgebouw in Bruges, Belgium on February 5th, 2027. The quartet is internationally renowned for its intensely expressive and virtuosic performances of string quartet repertoire, spanning from Haydn and Mozart through to contemporary composers like Dmitri Shostakovich – with whom they have a particularly strong association – and Philip Glass. Their interpretations are noted for their clarity, emotional depth, and technical precision, often described as possessing both intellectual rigour and passionate delivery.

The Concertgebouw Bruges opened in 2017 and is designed by Robbert Ameloot and An Fonteyne of Robbrecht en Daem architects. It’s built around the historic Pandreitje monastery, integrating modern concert hall facilities within a preserved historical context. The main hall boasts exceptional acoustics specifically engineered for chamber music and recital performances. Unlike the famed Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, this Bruges venue focuses specifically on smaller-scale musical events, prioritizing intimacy between performers and audience. The building materials prominently feature wood, contributing to its warm aesthetic and acoustic properties. It quickly established itself as a significant cultural hub for the region following its opening.
