Experience Boston Symphony Orchestra live on January 14th
The Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform at Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts on January 14, 2027. The Boston Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1881, is internationally renowned for its distinctive sound – often characterized by rich string tone and a powerful brass section. Historically, the orchestra has been a champion of American composers while maintaining a broad repertoire encompassing works from all major periods of classical music. It consistently ranks among the world’s leading orchestras, known for extensive touring and numerous recordings.
Symphony Hall itself opened in 1900 and is considered one of the most acoustically perfect concert venues in the world. Designed by McKim, Mead & White, its architecture draws inspiration from European concert halls, particularly the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. The hall’s exceptional acoustics are attributed to its rectangular shape, relatively small size compared to other major halls, and the use of specific materials during construction. It has been the primary performance space for the Boston Symphony Orchestra since its opening and has hosted countless celebrated musicians and conductors throughout its history. The hall is also home to the Boston Pops Orchestra.
