Classical Concerts in Boston

Experience Gautier Capuçon live on April 22nd

Gautier Capuçon will perform at Symphony Hall in Boston on April 22, 2027. Capuçon is a French classical cellist internationally recognized for his expressive interpretations and elegant phrasing. His repertoire spans from standard concertos by composers like Dvořák and Saint-Saëns to lesser-known works, often showcasing a lyrical and emotionally resonant style. He frequently collaborates with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide and is known for championing both established masterpieces and contemporary compositions.

Symphony Hall, opened in 1900, is considered one of the most acoustically perfect concert venues in the world. Designed by McKim, Mead & White, it is home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. The hall’s acoustics are largely attributed to its shoebox shape, relatively narrow width, and wooden construction—features intentionally incorporated based on observations of European concert halls of the time, particularly the Musikverein in Vienna. Throughout its history, Symphony Hall has hosted performances by numerous celebrated musicians and continues to be a highly regarded venue for orchestral and chamber music performances globally. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1980.
